David Kennedy is an at-large member of the Parkland Board of Directors in Pennsylvania. The seat was up for general election on November 3, 2015. There was a primary election on May 19, 2015. He filed to run in both the Republican and Democratic primaries. Kennedy won nominations in the Democratic and Republican primaries and advanced to the general election.[1][2] David Kennedy won the general election on November 3, 2015.

Kennedy obtained his bachelor's degree in marketing from Villanova University. He is the chairman of The Platinum Group. He is in his 18th year of serving on the school board.[3]

Five of the nine seats on the Parkland Board of Directors were up for general election on November 3, 2015. There was a primary election on May 19, 2015.

Incumbents Lisa Adams, Bob Bold, David Kennedy and Jef Reyburn won re-election. Carol Facchiano also joined the board. They defeated Rochell Figueroa.[1][2]

Adams, Kennedy and Facchiano won in both the Democratic and Republican primaries. Figueroa and Bold both won Democratic nominations. Reyburn won a Republican nomination. Martin Brans and David Caruth did not win a nomination from either party and did not advance to the general election. No independent candidates filed to run in the general election.[2]

The Parkland School District is located in east-central Pennsylvania in Lehigh County. The city of Allentown is the county seat. According to the United States Census Bureau, the population of the county was 355,092 in 2013.[5] In the 2012-2013 school year, the Parkland School District was the 20th-largest school district in Pennsylvania and served 9,263 students.[6]
