Darius G. Pridgen
Darius Pridgen (Democratic Party) was a member of the Buffalo Common Council in New York, representing Ellicott District. He assumed office in 2012. He left office on December 31, 2023.
Pridgen (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the Buffalo Common Council to represent Ellicott District in New York. He won in the general election on November 5, 2019.
He was elected to the council in 2011.[1] He was elected president of the council in 2014.[2][3]
Biography
Pridgen served in the United States Air Force. He received a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Buffalo State College and a master's degree in organizational leadership from Medaille College. He a senior pastor at True Bethel Baptist Church and serves on the Medaille College board of trustees.[4]

The city of Buffalo, New York, held elections for city council on November 3, 2015. A primary election took place on September 10, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was July 23, 2015.[5] In the Ellicott District race, incumbent Darius G. Pridgen was unopposed in the Democratic primary and defeated Terrance L. Heard (1 Ellicott) in the general election.[6] Heard initially filed to run in the Democratic primary, but he was removed from the ballot in early August. He then filed to run under the 1 Ellicott party line.[7]
