O'Connor (Republican Party) ran for re-election to the Massachusetts State Senate to represent the 1st Plymouth and Norfolk District. He won in the general election on November 5, 2024.
Biography
Patrick O'Connor was born in Weymouth, Massachusetts. O'Connor graduated from Weymouth High School in 2003.[1] His career experience includes co-founding L40 Networks, and working as the legislative director of the Office of State Senator Robert Hedlund and a regional coordinator for Kerry Healey's gubernatorial campaign. O'Connor served on the town council of Weymouth, Massachusetts.[1][2]

Special election
A special election for the position of Massachusetts State Senate Plymouth and Norfolk District was called for May 10. A primary election took place on April 12.[7] The filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 8, 2016.[8]
The seat was vacant following Robert Hedlund's (R) election to mayor of Weymouth in 2015.[9]
Joan Meschino defeated Paul Gannon in the Democratic primary. Patrick O'Connor defeated Stephen Gill in the Republican primary.[10][11] Meschino was defeated by O'Connor in the special election.[12][13][14]
