Issues in the district
Superintendent resignation
In August 2014, Baldwin County Public Schools Superintendent Alan Lee announced his resignation two weeks before the start of the 2014-2015 school year. He cited changes in the members of the school board as his reason for stepping down. Lee stated that he was unsure if he and the board of education would share the same vision in the future. The seven-member board saw three new members since Lee began as superintendent in 2010 and saw two more new members following the election in November 2014. Board president Norman Moore and vice president Angie Swiger said that they did not see the board's vision changing with the new members and were happy with the district's progress. Lee's resignation was effective November 1, 2014.[7]
