Kimberly Battle
Kimberly Battle was a candidate for the District 4 seat on the Huntsville City Board of Education in Alabama. She was defeated by Walker McGinis in the general election on August 26, 2014.
Biography
Battle earned a bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of Alabama-Huntsville, a master's degree in engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School and a master's degree in management from Colorado Technical University. At the time of her candidacy, Battle was an engineer for the Aviation Missile Research Development and Engineering Center. Battle has been a volunteer, mentor and tutor in Huntsville City Schools since 2006. She is also a member of the Huntsville Planning Commission and the United Way Board of Directors. Battles is a graduate of the Leadership Connect of Huntsville/Madison County, a milestones member of the Women's Economic Development Council and a member of The Fellowship of Faith Church.[1]

In the August 26, 2014 general election, Beth Wilder defeated Richard V. Buchanan for the District 2 seat and Walker McGinis defeated Kimberly Battle for the District 4 seat. Elisa Ferrell and Anson Knowles competed in a runoff election on October 7, 2014 for the District 3 seat. They defeated challengers Ellen Brusick, Kathie Rooker and Pat Sanders.
