Norton earned his bachelor's degree from Gustavus Adolphus College in 1981 and his J.D. from the Hamline University School of Law in 1985.[2]
Career
Norton's professional experience includes practicing law with a concentration in family law in private practice for more than 30 years.[3]

Primary: He was defeated in the primary on August 12, 2014, receiving 7.9 percent of the vote. He competed against Mark Gabriel Giancola, Brian C. Hagerty, Jason T. Hutchison, Daniel Cragg, Paul Scoggin and Bridget Ann Sullivan.
