Biography

Tanisha Hickerson was born and lives in Louisville, Kentucky. She graduated from Louisville Central High School. She earned a B.A. in philosophy from the University of Louisville in 2003 and a J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2006. Hickerson's career experience includes working as an attorney with Boehl Stopher, & Graves, LLP and as a partner and attorney at Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A.[1][2]

Selection method

The judges of the Kentucky District Courts are elected in nonpartisan elections. They serve four-year terms and must run for re-election if they wish to serve again.[5][6]

Qualifications
To serve on this court, a judge must be:[5]

  • a U.S. citizen;
  • a resident of the represented district for at least two years; and
  • licensed to practice law for at least two years.
