Julia Dayton Klein is a judge for Position 36 of the Minnesota Fourth Judicial District. She assumed office on June 2, 2021. Her current term ends on January 1, 2029.
Dayton Klein ran for re-election for the Position 36 judge of the Minnesota Fourth Judicial District. She won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
Dayton Klein was appointed to the court on June 2, 2021, by Gov. Tim Walz (D) to replace Thomas S. Fraser.[1]
Education
Klein earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame and a J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School.[1]
Career
Prior to her appointment to the Fourth Judicial District, Klein was a partner and trial lawyer at Lathrop GPM. Klein has also served as general counsel for the Minnesota Department of Commerce, a judicial law clerk to Charles A. Porter, Jr., and as an associate at Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi and Moss & Barnett.[1]
