George Cleland (Democratic Party) was a judge for Seat 4 of the North Carolina 31st Judicial District. He assumed office on January 1, 2024. He left office on October 3, 2025.

Cleland (Democratic Party) ran for re-election for judge of the North Carolina 21st Judicial District. He won in the general election on November 8, 2022.

Cleland was appointed to the court on September 4, 2020, by Gov. Roy Cooper (D) to replace George A. Bedsworth.[1]

Biography

Cleland received a B.A. in English from Wake Forest University and a J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His career experience includes practicing law in Forsyth County since 1990.[1]
