Robert W. Hodges is a Marion County judge of the Fifth Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. He was appointed to this position by Gov. Charlie Crist in 2007 to replace retired Judge Carven Angel.[1][2]

Hodges was up for re-election in 2010 and 2016. He won a contested race on August 24, 2010, but was unopposed in the second election scheduled for August 30, 2016. The unopposed election was canceled, and Hodges was automatically re-elected to a six-year term ending in January 2023.

Hodges received his bachelor's degree from the University of South Florida in 1987 and his law degree from the University of Florida in 1990.[1]

Hodges worked as an assistant state attorney from 1990 until he joined the circuit court in 2007. He also served as a chairperson on the Statewide Child Abuse Death Review Committee from 2003 to 2006.[1]

Florida's 20 circuit courts all had seats up for election in 2016. Of the 151 seats up for election, 125 saw only one candidate file for the election. The unopposed races were canceled and the sole candidates were automatically elected. Of the 26 opposed races, only 10 saw more than two candidates file. [3]

Hodges was elected to another term on the court in 2010. He won the primary election, receiving 57.9% of the vote and was re-elected after running unopposed in the general election.[4]
