Judiciary Committee, South Carolina House of Representatives
The Judiciary Committee is a standing committee of the South Carolina House of Representatives.
Per the House Rules, committees of the South Carolina House of Representatives are assigned by the Speaker of the House as soon as possible after members have been sworn in at the start of a new session. Chairs of committees are elected by the committee members unless otherwise established by rule or statute. Committees may choose to elect a vice-chair but are not required. The Speaker, Speaker Pro Tempore, and House Clerk serve as ex officio members of the Operations and Management Committee.[1]
