Issues

Political philosophy

Watson made the following statement to Ballotpedia regarding his political philosophy:[2]

In 2001, I swore an oath to defend our Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Our government, both federal and state, have been infringing upon our individual liberties for far too long. I saw the candidates, Mr. Coursey and Mrs. Robinson, running for the 6th District State Representative position, and saw that we needed a candidate who would fight for the cause of liberty. Just like after 9-11, I decided that it was time to stop waiting for someone else to “do something”. Realizing that I could be that somebody, decided to set aside my private life, and enter the fray of public service once again.

  • Very fiscally conservative
  • Very Pro-2nd Amendment
  • Pro-School Choice/School Vouchers
  • For getting government out of marriage
  • Pro Medical Cannabis and Pro-Hemp Farming
  • Pro-Coal
  • Pro-Law Enforcement, Anti-nanny state laws
  • Government should have no role in deciding whether people join unions or not
  • Pro-Life
  • Pro-Free Markets
  • Anti-government intrusions into privacy
  • For lower taxes
  • Pro-government accountability and transparency
