Michelle Ogburn
Michelle Ogburn was a member of the Henrico County Public Schools in Virginia, representing Three Chopt District. She assumed office in 2014. She left office on January 1, 2024.
Ogburn ran for re-election to the Henrico County Public Schools to represent Three Chopt District in Virginia. She won in the general election on November 5, 2019.
First elected to the seat in a special election on November 4, 2014, Obgurn won her first full term in the general election on November 3, 2015.[1]
Ogburn was targeted for recall in 2016 due to “neglect of duty” and “misuse of office” in regards to the school board's decision to sell land from the Three Chopt Elementary School for a cancer treatment center. Residents in the area around the school were opposed to the sale and said Ogburn did not represent their opinions. The effort was ultimately abandoned.
Biography
Ogburn is a resident of Henrico County, Virginia. Ogburn earned her B.S. in elementary education from Longwood College in 1978. She spent more than 20 years as an educator before she retired.[2]

2015
Opposition
The Henrico County School Board is a five-member board elected by district to serve four-year terms. All five seats were up for election on November 3, 2015. Newcomers Tara Adams, Roscoe Cooper III and Marcus Martin competed for the Fairfield District seat vacated by incumbent Lamont Bagby. Cooper won the open seat. In the Varina District, board member John Montgomery Jr. defeated a challenge from Ralph Hodge. Brookland District incumbent Beverly Cocke, Three Chopt District incumbent Michelle Ogburn and Tuckahoe District incumbent Lisa Marshall ran unopposed and won re-election to their seats.
