Biography

Oster Bryan was born in New York, New York. He earned a bachelor's degree from Baruch College in 2001 and a graduate degree from Fordham University in 2010. His career experience includes working as a professor. He previously worked for the New York City Employees Retirement System (NYCERS) for eight years and was a member of DC37. Bryan has been affiliated with the St. Albans Civic Improvement Association, the Cambria Heights Civic Association, the Caribbean American Rep. Theatre, The Cambria Heights Toastmasters, and Eastern Queens Alliance.[1]

I am currently the president of the oldest civic association in the borough of Queens, the St. Albans Civic Improvement Association founded in 1906. I also serve as treasurer for Caribbean American Repertory Theater (CART), a Southeast Queens based performing arts not-for-profit. I run a free STEM program for junior high school and high school student in conjunction with Saywalah Kesselly's African Center for Community Empowerment and Dr. Brett Sims of BMCC called Green Ready Alternative Energy Program (GRAEP). I have worked closely with other community organization such as the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church of Hollis, Addisleigh Park Civic Assoc., Greater TriAngular Civic Assoc., Brinkerhoff Action Association, Eastern Queens Alliance the Student Improvement Assoc., UNIA and the Blaque Resources Network on a issues ranging from education, environmental justice and food distribution to community advocacy, voter education and public arts projects. I've earned a BBA in Finance from Baruch College and an MBA in Finance from Fordham University/ Peking University. He is an independent business consultant and he currently serves as an adjunct professor of business and finance at Long Island Business Institute in Flushing, Queens.
