Robert McCabe
Robert "Bob" McCabe was the sheriff of Norfolk, Virginia. He was first appointed to the position in 1994, and he became the city's first popularly elected sheriff since 1916 in 2001. He was re-elected in 2005, 2009, and 2013. On December 30, 2016, McCabe announced his retirement from his position as sheriff, effective February 1, 2017.[1]
McCabe was a 2016 nonpartisan candidate for mayor of Norfolk. He was defeated in the general election on May 3, 2016.
