Coronado ran for election to the El Paso County Justice Court.
Primary: He was successful in the Democratic primary on March 4, 2014, receiving 31.7 percent of the vote. He competed against Brian Kennedy and Reed Leverton.
Runoff: Because no candidate received more than 50% of the vote, Coronado faced Kennedy in a runoff election on May 27, 2014. He won, earning 57.9% of the votes cast.
General: He faced Kelly Dickson in the general election on November 4, 2014.[1][2]
