Shivi Prasad-Madhukar

Biography
Prasad-Madhukar earned her M.P.A. with a specialization in public policy from New York University's Wagner School of Public Service. She began her career by spending more than 15 years in the public sector before taking a policy analyst position with the nonprofit Poverty Research Institute operated by Legal Services of New Jersey.[2] Prasad-Madhukar has volunteered at Martin Luther King School in the Edison Township school district and serves as the vice president of the John Adams Middle School PTO.[3]

2015
Three seats on the Edison Township school board were up for general election on November 3, 2015. The seats of incumbents Deborah Anes, Lora L. Fong, and Margot Harris were on the ballot.[4] Anes won re-election, while newcomers Ralph Errico and Shivi Prasad-Madhukar joined the board. They defeated William Araujo, Richard Brescher, Hollie Gilroy, Dennis Pipala, Deborah Schildkraut, and Kiel Thoms. Anes, Pipala, and Schildkraut were running as a slate.[1][5]

Shivi Prasad-Madhukar lost to incumbents Jingwei Shi and Frank Heelan and fellow newcomer Beth Moroney for the three at-large seats in the general election on April 23, 2014. Shi, Heelan and Prasad-Madhukar campaigned as one slate and Moroney, Kiel Thoms and Chang-Hui Shen campaigned as a separate "Team E3" slate.[3][7]
