Dave is running as an Independent candidate for the 8th Congressional District in Northern Virginia,
  • I am grounded in the principle to Love Neighbor ...
  • Respect Differences ...
  • and when pushed, Stand-up to Bullies
My platform focuses on bread-and-butter, quality of life issues – safe streets, the dignity of a job, affordable housing, a woman's right to choose, and always backing teachers, libraries, and parents. These are the issues that hit close to home for millions of Americans and are issues that are important to the residents of VA-08. Further, my two sons served in the U.S. Army and my oldest served two tours in Iraq. We MUST find ways to support our men and women as they readjust to life back home. In fact, we need to find new ways to show compassion to anyone who is disenfranchised or marginalized in our country. That's my passion.
My faith is central to how I try to conduct my day-to-day life.
My grounding principle is this: Love Neighbor, Respect Differences, but when pushed, Stand-up to Bullies.
Honesty, reliabilty, and a willingness to speak out when there is injustice.
I was a paper boy, loading up my bike with as many papers my bike rack could hold, and delivering papers door-to-door.
We need to to re-learn how to talk across the aisle ... and not demonize others.
We need to have a pathway for new voices, all the time. There should be no such thing as a lifetime appointment.
An elderly gentleman invited me into his house when I was gathering signatures. His wife was sick and could not get out of bed, but he insisted she also sign my petition. She signed : )
Yes! I am grassroots unifier who can work across cultural, political, and social differences.
I collected 1,208 signatures to qualify for the ballot, so that's my base!

Campaign website

Kennedy's campaign website stated the following:

SAFE STREETS

We need partnerships between schools, police, the criminal justice system, and the faith community to make our streets safe. Innocent children cannot be shot, carjackings cannot be the norm, and fear can not dominate our lives.

AFFORDABLE HOUSING

This hectic world requires our homes to be sanctuaries for peace and rest. We need a larger supply of safe and affordable housing – partnerships across business, government, nonprofits, and the faith community are the engine.

THE DIGNITY OF A JOB

Our jobs should represent the best of America where workers are honored for their contributions to the American economy. Most importantly, our jobs must pay a fair and living wage, which allows Americans to support themselves and their families.

TEACHERS, PARENTS, LIBRARIES, AND IDEAS

This combination is the secret sauce that has the potential to make American education the best in the world. Whether learning happens in the public, private, or home school, all of our children deserve the best education possible.

LOVE & COMPASSION FOR THE WORLD

We are people of love and compassion – which means deep care for the Earth and all her residents. Crises around mental illness, opioids, violence, and the climate require we advocate together for policies that protect the Earth and her most vulnerable.

A WOMAN’S RIGHT TO CHOOSE

Control over one’s reproductive rights is not negotiable and government cannot take this right away. And while we may disagree, let’s at least unite to fight for the best education, healthcare, and housing for all children.
