I am an America First Republican candidate who is a 40-year resident of Dearborn, Michigan, with two children and 10 grandchildren. After 18 years working for the YMCA of Metro Detroit, I started my own nonprofit consulting business. In this capacity, I guided and supported nonprofits across Wayne County in creating effective fund development plans through efficient management, relationship building and fundraising strategies. I’m proud to have helped foster several thriving, diverse, and resilient organizations throughout the county.
  • The building and maintenance of infrastructure and roads are one of the main responsibilities of county government, yet the roads and bridges in Wayne County have been a disaster for years. This is despite the county’s $1.8 billion dollar budget. How is this possible? I commit to having a good, long look at the budget when I’m elected to determine how current funding is allocated and where it can be redirected to fix our infrastructure. The condition of the infrastructure directly affects the county’s economy from the delivery of goods, the safety of our citizens and the businesses in Wayne County. Also, a review of current construction techniques needs to be done. Cheaply made roads and bridges may seem like a quick fix but is not because
  • The rights of businesses were decimated during the covid pandemic. While liquor stores, marijuana dispensaries and big box stores were allowed to remain open, small businesses were considered non-essential and ordered to close; they lost revenue, jobs and some never reopened. The success of already over-regulated businesses should not be at the mercy of government agencies. The County Commission adopts and enforces rules establishing the authority of county departments and offices. They play a key role in the checks and balances of the federal and state governments. Commissioners had the ability and should have instructed those departments and offices to not enforce the arbitrary and overreaching mandates of the Michigan governor.
  • Over the past 2 years, I have witnessed the Wayne County Commission’s lack of transparency regarding the county’s massive $1.8 Billion budget. Residents should not need a degree in accounting to understand how their county tax dollars are being spent. As a commissioner, I will provide a clear presentation of the county’s finances, assess the current budget to determine where funds are being spent, the effectiveness of county programs, and highlight areas for reduction or elimination. A thorough assessment with complete transparency is needed for Wayne County’s budget.
Infrastructure, budgets and taxes, the rights of businesses, parents’ rights and medical autonomy.
I worked at the YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit for 18 years. The last 9 years I had the privilege of working for Kenneth C. Isherwood, the Senior Vice President of Financial Development. He encouraged me to go to college and to continue attending additional workshops and classes. He was the first to recognize I was capable of handling more responsibility. He always inspired me. Without his guidance and mentorship, I would not have started my own company and would not be as confident in my professional or personal life as I am today.
Integrity and transparency is important not only for a County Commissioner, but for any officeholder.

I am a self-starter and problem solver. I have been blessed with the ability to look outside of the box, identify a challenge, and create a plan to move a project forward to a positive solution for all parties.
The County has a constitutional obligation to residents and business owners not to hinder their success or create hardship for them. The fact that the County has been directly responsible for the failure of small businesses and for the unemployment of thousands of residents, particularly in the last couple of years cannot be ignored.

The Commission's lack of action to put an end to the Governor’s job-killing, small business destroying mandates caused the closure of numerous businesses and subsequent loss of jobs. Surviving businesses now face increased costs of goods & services due to record inflation. Many will not survive.

Residents and businesses would not require as much help if the County was functioning properly and acting in their best interest. Our community would be better served with improved infrastructure and the removal of COVID and other regulations that increase business costs. Lowering taxes on businesses and property owners would also increase the success of small businesses.
“When I die and you live in this free Constitutional Republic that God led our Founding Fathers to create, you will think, ‘Thank-you Mom for working so hard on political activities.’ But when I die and you live in a socialist, communist, or one-world-order country, you will think, ‘Mom, why didn't you do more?’"
Quote by Margaret Erle
While not the first historical event to happen in my lifetime, the most significant event was September 11, 2001, when the World Trade Center was attacked. I was a fundraising consultant working at the American Red Cross office in downtown Detroit. There were televisions in each of the offices for us all to see the event as it unfolded.

In my senior year, my first job was through my High School’s Co-op Program. I went to school part time and worked for Westborn Chrysler Dealership as a car biller. I kept this job for two years.

I would be Wonder Woman so I could use my Lasso of Truth on politicians.
I’ve never understood why people are dishonest and manipulative. I strive to be genuine and honest -not only toward others but with myself. The truth can be difficult to handle, but so much more could be accomplished in this world if there was more of it. At the end of day, I want to know I did what was right even if it wasn’t what was easy.
