The Arizona Four-Year Terms for Mine Inspector Amendment is not on the ballot in Arizona as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment on November 3, 2026.
This measure have would required four-year terms for the mine inspector, and provided that the mine inspector hold office for no more than two consecutive terms.[1]

Path to the ballot
A simple majority vote is required during one legislative session for the Arizona State Legislature to place a constitutional amendment on the ballot. That amounts to a minimum of 31 votes in the Arizona House of Representatives and 16 votes in the Arizona State Senate, assuming no vacancies. Amendments do not require the governor's signature to be referred to the ballot.
- The measure, SCR 1031, was introduced to the Arizona State Senate on February 10, 2025.[1]
- The measure passed the Senate on March 4, 2025 by a 23-4 vote.[1]
As the House never approved the amendment, it was not placed on the 2026 ballot.
