As a parent of two young children, I have seen the importance of teaching and sharing the beauty around us - we have wonderful natural resources in Northeast Florida and I want to ensure that our communities know what they can do to support our environment. Find out more about me at www.VoteArthurBides.org
  • I will strengthen and expand partnerships with both government entities as well as non-profit organizations to help the conservation district meet its goals and mission.
  • I will partner with the city to make sure new sustainability and resiliency goals are supported.
  • I will help the conservation district become the go-to resource for all Jacksonville citizens to obtain useful information that will encourage the wise use of our land, water, forests, wildlife and related natural resources.
I am passionate about water policy particularly resiliency and sustainability of water and soil resources.
I look up all the working people that don't get the credit for showing up everyday for years to make their community a better place.
The first historical event that I remember was when it snowed in Jacksonville, FL. I was about 8 years old at the time and never saw real snow before then.
I worked my first job when I was 14 working summers for the City of Jacksonville as filing clerk. I worked every summer at that job until I graduated from high school and joined the Marine Corps.
I graduated from the University of Florida with my degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Water Resources. I am a registered Professional Engineer, who works as a Water/Wastewater Engineer at the local municipal utility. I am a member of the Florida Water Environment Association, and the American Water Works Association. I am a certified Florida Stormwater Inspector and DBIA Associate.
