An effort to recall Las Vegas City Councilwoman Barbara Perea-Casey was initiated in November 2017.[1]

Recall supporters

Flores argued that Perea-Casey should have been recalled due to support for increased public debt, open discussion about matters discussed in executive sessions, and interference with work done by public employees.[1] He also argued that Perea-Casey worked with Councilmen Vince Howell and David Romero to prevent progress on city issues.[2]

Recall opponents

Perea-Casey told local media that the recall effort was initiated due to the belief that she was involved in an unsuccessful 2016 recall effort against Mayor Tonita Gurule-Giron.[1]

Flores needed to gather signatures from at least 20 percent of voters in the city's most recent election to require a recall election. There is no time limit to the signature-gathering process. As of June 14, 2018, there was no indication that the recall effort had moved forward.
