I am an innovator, entrepreneur, photographer, and community advocate who grew up going to Douglas County schools and after graduating college moved back to be close to family and live in this beautiful area. I am a fierce advocate for education, protecting water, and doing what we can to be resilient against the threat of natural disasters. I also believe in the importance of mental health care, public safety, housing, and that our education and political system need to adapt to the quickly changing world we live in.

I’m running for office because I believe that the every-day hard working people of Highlands Ranch deserve an equally hard working representative in the state Senate. One who not only believes that we the people have the power to bring about a better world — but one who actively fights to bring about a better world — for people today and for future generations.

It would not only be an honor to represent the area I grew up in as a State Senator but also believe that my voice and ideas are necessary. In a governing body of 36 what is more important than being a political insider is being a person with fresh perspectives and expertise in finding solutions over following the status quo. As a State Senator I will meet with community and bring our perspective, and the energy and creativity of a younger generation represented and active at our State Capitol.

  • Environment, Clean and resilient water system - Clean air - Make polluters pay and Change
  • People, Invest in Mental Healthcare, Education, Housing Supply, and Everyday Needs
  • Prosperity, Smart Government Vision and Support of Change - Economic System Works for all People
Policy that improves lives right away and as well as setting things up in a smart way so that our future is more free, just, and full of opportunities and health. An example of this is investing into green energy safe available water, and broadband development jobs. I think education and mental health jobs too can be invested in and supported.

For more details, visit my website: www.BraedenForColorado.com
There you will find links to video clips, details on upcoming events, and more about my policy platform. We call our platform our Rainbow paper's as it covers the Risks, Opportunities, Your Part, Growth, Beliefs, and Vision we have for our district in correlation with the ROYGBIV colors of the rainbow.

While the exercise of laying things out in a different way allows me to show you all my ability to innovate and communicate it also ties into something else I am passionate about; equal rights and inclusivity. I truly believe in "Freedom and Justice for All". I believe that includes a woman's right to choose when to start a family and make health care decisions - as well that the LGBTQ+ community should not be hated or feared but engaged with and included to better know and understand.
Authentic interest in getting to know all the people they represent, a desire to smartly work on policies that improve the lives and future of those people. and an ability to imaginatively share and work on a vision that inspires and activates people to get involved.

It is together that we have the best ideas and potential. I think a leader needs to be proactively working to bridge that conversation with all sides. This has been one of my favorite parts of running and seeing the similarities and differences we all bring and working to find areas of or inspire shared interest.
I would like to leave a legacy of smart changes and showcasing a new style of leadership for a purple district by aiming to be a person who finds and focuses on the things that really affect all of us and the world we live in. I want to show that youth have many smart ideas and perspectives and hopefully help inspire more youth to get involved.

I mostly do this because one day I decided that I really want to have and raise kids one day and I wanted to show them the most beautiful and just world I could. I also learned how empowering and fun it was to work with people on meaningful change and persued a path that was authentic.

Overall some big important changes would be nice for a legacy. How about healthcare for people as a right and we negotiated with health care and pharma to make that happen. I also think we can give people good meaningful jobs in green energy fields, water infrastructure, agriculture, housing, and mental health fields... And by doing so we create and build a really cool and resilient state. I think investing into our people that way also returns back to our economy and cities so I want to leave a legacy of smart business sense ideas, and helping our education system prepare youth for their future.

The Stormlight Archive series is my favorite. I like the third book the most and Bridge 4 and knights radiant have some of my favorite book moments. Amazing on audio book. Great character development moments and sets up a fantastically interesting world.
This song called W.I.T.C.H. by Devon Cole has been stuck in my head for like a week itself. It has October vibes and is totally clever and well done. Only listen to it if you are ok with it getting stuck in your head because it is so catchy. It's like it has the power of an actual spell...
I think it depends on what that experience is. While one part of politics is working with others to create and work on laws. Another part of politics is the game of elections and the ability to spin a topic or angle. I come from a political organizing background where the work is put into outreaching to people and bringing them together for a shared cause. Through my process doing that I have met experts, engineers, and all sorts of people and see how together we can bring forward the best solutions.

Someone else’s experience with politics might tell them to do otherwise. We see that some focus on party politics and creating incentives for the wealthy and powerful. Some like my opponent hold very little public engagement and even works closely with industries that are not even really in our district like dispensaries. When political experience leads to those situations I question if that experience is really pro-actively fighting for every day people, workers, and families.
I would have huge positive contributions and bring helpful leadership to the Agriculture & Natural Resources Committee as well as the Education committee.

I have an extensive background and ability to bring smart economic changes and development to our agriculture and natural resource sectors. Our most important natural resource to protect is our water. From long term security of district, to our crops/food, and to health, our water policy must be updated for the modern day. My background in science, modern day agriculture, and entrepreneurship can help secure a resilient future. This expertise would be particularly helpful as we get Inflation Reduction Act money that could be invested into energy infrastructure and investment for the everyday person, worker, and farmer. Investing in these ways now helps us improve our air quality and save on long term energy costs.

When it comes to education I bring a perspective on how the education system has problems when it comes to the modern day system. Work is changing and the skills employers prioritize are different than even 10 years ago. Our education system should be growing to better help our youth and those needing to change careers prepare for and succeed in that reality.
Fort Collins Mayor and previous representative of House District 53, Jeni Arndt, is someone who has inspired me and looked to me as a model of what representation can look like.

Jeni was one of the first state legislators I had met in my first year volunteering in politics. I got to see through our organization and a handful of in person meetings an amazing leader. Jeni has a curiosity and interest in making changes, even large ones, if she thought that it helped everyday people or was the right thing to do. Not only that but it was one of the first times in person that I saw an example of a local politician who was so heavily involved with and loved by so much of their local community. Recently winning the Mayoral race in Fort Collins by 63% also shows that a proven record and actions can overcome division and party politics.

Other legislators I look to for inspiration are Brianna Titone for her focus and work on systemic issues and spirit to be a trailblazer. As well as Dominick Moreno, another courageous changemaker who has often used his knowledge of math and budget to maximize all he can for Colorado and its people.
