An effort to recall Trustees Cindy Olsen and Daniel Detkowski did not qualify for the ballot in Washington Township, Michigan.
Recall supporters
Resident Jeffrey Bachochin filed the recall petition. The petition stated that the grounds for recall were that Olsen and Detkowski had voted to increase their salaries as trustees at a board meeting on June 2, 2021.[1]

The Macomb County Election Commission approved both recall petitions for circulation in a hearing on July 29, 2022.[1]
For a recall election to have been scheduled, organizers needed to collect signatures equal to 25% of township voters from the previous gubernatorial election.
