Daures Stephens was raised in Kern County's First District (Ridgecrest, California) and after graduation, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps. Semper Fi.
After his years of service to our country, Stephens returned and worked for the Kern County Sheriff's Office as a Senior Deputy until retirement, career that had him working in multiple communities with the citizens of Kern County throughout the First District and beyond.
Stephens continued his service to community and is a current two-term elected member of the South Fork Union School District Board of Trustees, a business owner of South Lake Cycle (www. southlakecycle.com) and job creator, along with being dedicated family man. He is married, has two children and is a proud grandpa of two precious grandkids.
He is endorsed by California Assemblyman Devon Mathis and Kern County Sheriff Carl Sparks (retired), as well the law enforcement communities including Kern County Detention Officers Association and Kern County Probation Department.- Public safety is one of Daures Stephens' top priorities. He's lived and worked as a first responder in all parts of the district, which gives him an understanding of his constituents' needs.
- Daures Stephens advocates for and supports Kern County's economic industries and small businesses. He will protect and defend Kern County's vital resources. Stephens also understands small businesses needs and challenges faced due to his own personal experience in this area.
