Docia Dalby was a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana. She was first appointed to this position on May 16, 1997 and was reappointed in 2005.[1] Dalby retired from the court on November 13, 2012.[2]

Education

Judge Dalby received her B.A. and M.A. degrees from Northeast Louisiana University at Monroe in 1967 and 1978, respectively. She then received her J.D. degree from the Louisiana State University Law Center in 1982.[1]

Career

Judge Dalby began her career in 1983 as a law clerk to U.S. District Judge John Parker in Louisiana. She then worked as a private practice lawyer Baton Rouge and New Orleans from 1984 until her judicial appointment in 1997.[1]
