George Woods has lived in South Georgia his entire life. Graduated Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College with an associate degree in Criminal Justice in 1991, then transferred to Valdosta State University to continue his education in criminal Justice and Middle Grades Education. For the last 29 years, Woods has worked in business where is has worked closely with Georgia Grown and Georgia Local businesses. His concentrated efforts will be on securing the voting system, bringing employment to South Georgia, helping lower taxes for senior citizens, improving the teacher to student ratio in early childhood education, and supporting first responders, local business owners, and farmers. Woods has strong Christain and Conservative values.
  • I am for secure elections, where everyone has their vote counted. I am for more polling locations and going back to paper ballots, for accoutablity reasons.
  • I will preserve and uphold all of our Constitutional Rights
  • I have strong, lifelong Christian values and beliefs, and I have been a Republican my whole life
I am passionate about our school systems, especially in early childhood. The education system has to have lower student to teacher ratio's during the student's years at the elementary level. Those years are where the student starts learning and comprehension, the building blocks for later years, are developed to be successful after they graduate high school. I am also passionate about making sure our first responders have the proper training and equipment they need to begin their shift and make it back home to their families at the end of shift.
I look up to members of my family, to many to name, who started with nothing, and became very successful. They also had a work ethic to earn an honest day's wage from hard work. With their success, they were able to give back to their community to help others. That is who I look up to and want to emulate.
I am a child of God. I am a man that is honest, and I am a man on integrity. I have a passion for the education system and the students we serve. I am my own man, and will not be swayed by others outside of my district when I am elected
To serve his or her district, with honesty, integrity, and responsibly.
Work hard, and serve others.
I can remember early in life, possibly at the age of five or six, going hunting and fishing with my daddy. He was an outdoorsman, and I was always with him.
My first job was in Cordele Georgia when I was 11 years old. Every summer until I was 18, I would help local farmers pick watermelons and cantaloupes and deliver to market. My daddy taught me early in life to work hard and work honest.
I struggle at times when I feel like there are more people I could have helped, but just was not able to.
I believe the ideal relationship between governor and state legislature is to work hand in hand, regardless of party affiliation, to serve the people of Georgia. The citizens are the ones that should benefit.
I perceive Georgia's greatest challenge over the next decade is education. I am not faulting out education system or our teachers, but we have to find better ways to attract and keep dedicated educators, and ease the process in becoming an educator.
The only benefit I can name is a unicameral state legislature allows for a faster process to making law and in times of an emergency is applicable. I know of many drawbacks such as a unicameral state legislature can create a dictatorial head of state and unfair and unequal representation.
I do believe it is beneficial to build relationships with other legislators. I believe this because we are all different, with different backgrounds, and different ideologies. It would bode well for me to have dialogue with others that have the same goals and desires as I do.
An independent commission based on census data.
Health and Human Services, Public Safety, Natural Resources and the Environment, Economic Development and Tourism, and Science and Technology
I do believe compromise is necessary for policymaker, but I will not compromise myself or my beliefs in the process.
