Recall reports

An effort to recall Jeff Bohm of the St. Clair County Board of Commissioners in Michigan was initiated in 2024. Dawn Nowicki filed the recall paperwork with the St. Clair County Clerk on January 25. This was the second petition filed by Nowicki after the first petition was rejected by the St. Clair County Election Commission for a lack of clarity. The petition language was approved on January 29.[1]

After the petition language was approved, Bohm had a ten day period to appeal the ruling. The deadline for a recall to make it on the May ballot passed on February 2, 2024. The recall will also not appear on the November ballot since officeholders in Michigan with a two-year term or less are not allowed to be recalled during the first or last six months of their term.[2]

Recall supporters

The petition against Bohm listed the following reasons for recall:[3]

Jeff Bohm continues to pursue development of Marine City Highway, east of Meldrum Road, contrary to the Wade-Trim Study recommendations. This study includes citizen concerns which have not been addressed. [4]
