2015
The city of Chicago, Illinois, held elections for city council on February 24, 2015. A runoff will take place on April 7, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was November 24, 2014.[1] In the general election for Ward 16, Ward 15 incumbent Toni Foulkes and challenger Stephanie Coleman advanced past challengers Cynthia Lomax and Jose A. Garcia.[2] Foulkes narrowly defeated Coleman in the runoff election on April 7, 2015. Incumbent JoAnn Thompson passed away on February 9, 2015.[3] The Chicago Board of Election Commissioners removed her name from the ballot the following week.[4] Guadalupe Rivera and Jeffrey L. Lewis were removed from the ballot in January 2015.[5]
