Recall supporters
Pittston resident Cheryl Peaslee initiated the recall effort. She has alleged that the town's atmosphere is no longer friendly, that the Pittston Town Office has become a hostile work environment, and that disagreements between the members of the Pittston Select Board have prevented them from accomplishing their business. Peaslee has also alleged that the board spends money frivolously.[1]
Recall opponents
Caputo has said, "I am disappointed that my attempt to bring transparency and to hold town employees accountable and to high standards is troublesome to Ms. Peaslee." He has also said, "As I have said many times before, it is my goal to do what is best for the town of Pittston."[1]
