  • One of my main priorities is to put students first. Every decision that the board makes should center on what is going to help students learn, grow and succeed. We must return to having strong academics, safe classrooms and transparent decision-making. We also must support our teachers and make sure they have the resources they need to be successful. Additionally, we need to make sure that every child that leaves CMS is ready for what's next, whether that's college, a trade or the workforce.
  • My second priority is to restore accountability and transparency to the board. Teachers, parents, and taxpayers deserve to know how decisions are made and to have input into those decisions. Many parents and teachers feel as though that there are too many decisions being made with little to no input or explanation. I'll work to rebuild trust between parents, teachers and the board.
  • My third priority is to make sure that we are supporting our teachers. I'll advocate for competitive pay and additional classroom resources. I'll also work to ensure that parents have a voice in their children's education. Our schools are stronger when there is partnership between parents and teachers.
I'm passionate about education, families and community-focused policy. I believe that public policy should empower parents to be active participants in their child's education. We should also ensure that tax dollars are spent to increase student outcomes and make schools safer.
