Karen L. Strombom was a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington. She was appointed to this position on April 1, 2003, and she retired from the bench on April 28, 2017.[1][2]

Education

Judge Strombom received her B.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point in 1974. She then moved to the UW - Madison, where she earned her J.D. in 1978.[3]

Career

Judge Strombom began her career in 1978 practicing with the law firm of Burgess, Kennedy, Fitzer & Strombom in Tacoma, Washington. She worked in this position until 1990, when she was appointed to the Pierce County Superior Court. She became a federal magistrate judge in 2003 and she retired from the bench on April 28, 2017.[3]
