Recall reports

An effort to recall Village President Kristen Valentine and Trustee Beau Shaver did not go to a vote in Mayville, Michigan. Officials with the Tuscola County Election Commission determined that the petition language to recall Valentine and Shaver wasn’t clear enough for the effort to continue.[1]

Recall supporters

According to the Tuscola County Advertiser, organizer Cary Horton said Valentine should be recalled because "On February 25th, 2025 Kristen Valentine voted no to open the Mayville Village Office to the village residents from Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 9-3 p.m. at the Village of Mayville council meeting." Horton also said Shaver should be recalled because "On February 25th, 2025 Boyd Beau Shaver made a motion to table the opening of Village Office indefinitely at the Village of Mayville council meeting."[2]
