  • Election Reform
Excerpt: "There are ways to fix these situations: First there is a means of voting called, “Instant Runoff Voting.” which allows a voter to choose his or her favorite candidates in the order they most like them. Their most favorite, 2nd most and so on. ...It seems to me that many of the laws that make it hard for smaller political parties to get on the ballot, debate, or be in public forums are designed to keep you the voter, restricted as to your choices."
  • Fully Restore Education
Excerpt: "When we fix the tax system, we can fully fund education, and make our schools among the best everywhere in the state. ...Every student in this state deserves a chance to have the same level of education, no matter where they live. And every person in the state deserves to have the best level of help, despite any disabilities. Public schools need to stay public so that every child can go to a school that feeds their need to bloom as a person. They must have more that computer training. They should have their souls fed with art and music classes, weekly–not in a single performance once a year."
  • Basic Heath Care Plan
Excerpt: "This used to be an insurance policy for individuals here in the state. No one had to have special qualifications to get the insurance and everyone in the state could get this basic insurance, to cover catastrophic costs, and prescriptions. As our funds dried up, this plan was bled dry. It used to be something our state bragged about, that every Washingtonian could get health care they could afford. With restoration of funds, it MUST be revived for everyone in the state."

Excerpt: "Not just politicians’ dreams, but safe and sound structures we actually need. Every time I hear that someone wants to Make Seattle a, “World Class City.”, or Washington, ” The Number One State”…I dread whatever they are trying to sell. We have had the voters stuck with unneeded stadiums, tunnels and bridges. Meanwhile, we have a dam that could fail, a seawall that a good breeze could knock down, and real needs all over the state. Think of the jobs we could create while we do what is actually needed."

Knighton ran in the 2012 election for Washington House of Representatives, District 36-Position 2. Knighton was defeated by Gael Tarleton and Noel Christina Frame in the August 7 blanket primary election. They face each other in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3]
