The Calhoun County Election Commission determined in a clarity hearing on March 21, 2022, that the recall petition was sufficiently clear and factual for the recall process to proceed.[1][2]
To force a special recall election to have been scheduled, organizers needed to collect around 135 signatures, which represented 25% of the votes cast for governor in Jackson's district during the previous gubernatorial election.[1] No recall election was scheduled after organizers did not turn in signatures.[3]
