Campaign themes

2014

Martin's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[1]

Jobs & The Economy

  • Excerpt: "Small business are the cornerstone of Delaware. We need to incentivize businesses for hiring. Not penalize with tax burdens."

Public Safety & Crime

  • Excerpt: "Introduce new technologies to crime plagued area. Robert has a detailed plan to warn criminal that they will be watched and tracked if they commit a crime especially with a gun in our communities."

Issues Facing Urban Neighborhoods

  • Excerpt: "I walk the streets and listen to many great "out of the box" ideas on how to get kids and adults involved in social and job programs. I understand the importance of funding nonprofit organizations in the communities to bring these ideas to life."

Veteran

  • Excerpt: "With the current scandals going on in the Veterans Administration, I want to make sure our Veterans in Delaware are receiving federal funding to properly care for our veteran and on a timely basis."

Education

  • Excerpt: "Our children deserve better from a system that is among the top in pay yet our kids are near to bottom academically. Throwing more money at education in the public schools clearly is not the answer. Tough decisions must be made in Dover to address the problem. I also have a plan for a pilot program I would like to introduce to the State for continuous education for adults."
