2014

Nava highlighted the following issues on his campaign website:

My platform is straightforward:

● Funding belongs in classroom. The first priority of our district is to focus funding to ensure every child reads, writes and is proficient in math at their grade level.

● Ensure the school budget is not wasted on non-classroom expenses. Teachers need the tools to teach our kids.

● Increase test scores and improve the graduation rate within the district.

● Hold district employees accountable. If it doesn’t help student achievement it shouldn’t happen. No more excuses.

Our schools are constantly dealing with state regulations and uncertain state budgets. I will bring stability and a rational viewpoint to the school board. We need to improve our school district and
ensuring that our children’s generation will be the trailblazers in making California golden again. There is no excuse for anything less.[5]
