August 19, 2025: Eighty-seven percent (87%) of voters say it is more important to ensure that everyone who graduates from high school has the basic skills needed to function as an adult in society than it is to make sure that everyone can go to college. A Napolitan News Service national survey conducted by RMG Research found 12% say making sure everyone can go to college is more important.

The survey also found 53% say everyone who graduates from public high schools in their area have the ability to read, write, get a job and function as an adult in society. Twenty-four percent (24%) disagree.

Methodology

The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on August 6-7, 2025. Fieldwork for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of Registered Voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population. The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.

Scott Rasmussen is the president of RMG Research, Inc. and founder of the Napolitan Institute.
