Scott Rasmussen's Number of the Day for August 8, 2023
The Number of the Day columns published on Ballotpedia reflect the views of the author.
August 8, 2023: Fifty-four percent (54%) of voters who were vaccinated against COVID chose to do so because they wanted to. A Scott Rasmussen National Survey found that an additional 25% did it primarily to protect a vulnerable family member, and 19% got vaccinated because they had to for work, travel, or an event.
The survey also found that, knowing what they know today, 53% of those who were vaccinated would definitely get vaccinated again. An additional 13% would be very likely to. Among that group who have been vaccinated, 45% plan to get another round of boosters, while 35% do not.
Methodology
The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on July 26-27, 2023. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the -sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population.
The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.
Note: Neither Scott Rasmussen, ScottRasmussen.com, nor RMG Research, Inc. have any affiliation with Rasmussen Reports. While Scott Rasmussen founded that firm, he left nearly a decade ago and has had no involvement since that time.
