June 25, 2019: The era of interactive television has arrived.
Eighty-eight percent (88%) of television viewers use a second digital device while watching TV.[1]
The Bond Internet Trends report compiled by Mary Meeker reports that 71% use their other devices to look up content related to what they’re watching.
Forty-one percent (41%) message family and friends about what they’re watching.
The report suggests that multi-platform access improves the relevancy of the experience. And it creates opportunities for better ad experiences. Last Thursday’s Number of the Day showed that 51% of all ad dollars are now spent on digital platforms.
