September 4, 2023: Fifty-seven percent (57%) of voters will celebrate Labor Day by spending time with family and friends. A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that 40% will grill or barbeque at home, and 10% will go to the beach or lake. Just 9% will attend a parade or speech commemorating Labor Day, and 21% do not plan to do anything to celebrate.
The survey also found that only 15% believe that Labor Day is one of the nation’s most important holidays. Seventeen percent (17%) believe it is one of the least important, and 63% say it is somewhere in between.
Methodology
The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on August 29-30, 2023. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the -sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population.
The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.
