Prior to serving as a judge, I was a civil law courtroom lawyer with the Illinois Attorney General's office for nearly 15 years. I represented the great People of the State of Illinois in lawsuits. I also have extensive experience in criminal law, serving in the Public Defender's Office before joining the Attorney General's Office. I have 20 years of civil and criminal law courtroom experience.
I am active in my community. I served on the School Board of Elk Grove Township District 59 from 2015-2019. My time as a school board member taught me the importance of listening to the community, carefully considering what people have to say, and making decisions that are supported by logic and fair analysis, while always treating people with the respect and dignity they deserve. This is my basic philosophy. A good judge treats people fairly and with respect, and I do this everyday in my courtroom.
I am married to my wonderful wife of 12 years, and together we are raising two amazing kids in the Northwest Suburbs. We are very involved with our kids' activities (as all parents are in this stage of parenting), and it so far has been an amazing journey!- I am committed to public service. My mantra is that we don't know what people are going through until we walk in their shoes. Therefore, as a judge, I am fair, impartial, and unbiased because I believe a good judge should always keep an open mind when listening to all of the facts and evidence.
- I am active in my community. I served on the School Board in Elk Grove Township for four years. Another father in the neighborhood and I also started a Running Club in the area during the pandemic to encourage young students to be active and develop their social skills. I believe my interest in the community of Cook County's 18th Subcircuit makes me particularly suited to be elected from this area!
- I always treat people fairly and with respect. I believe that the hallmark of a good judge is how the judge treats the litigants and lawyers in front of the judge. The goal is to solve peoples' problems. However, litigants will not always get what they ask for, and that is okay, but only if they feel like the judge listened to them, carefully considered what they had to say, and treated them fairly and with respect. These are the characteristics I possess as a judge!
But as far as public policies are concerned, I think we should all commit to being kindler and gentler toward one another. In this age of divisive politics, I hope to be an example of moderation, and as someone who is always listening to the other side. We can, and should, be civil toward each other even when we disagree. This policy has made America the great country that she is, and I hope to lead by example to bring us back to our roots of finding unity amongst us!

I also deeply admire the late Judge James Brady from the Middle District of Louisiana. I clerked for Judge Brady as a young law school graduate, and he taught me the skills needed to be a successful lawyer.
