Terri Yellowhammer
Terri Yellowhammer is a judge for Position 52 of the Minnesota Fourth Judicial District. She assumed office in 2020. Her current term ends on January 1, 2029.
Yellowhammer ran for re-election for the Position 52 judge of the Minnesota Fourth Judicial District. She won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
Yellowhammer was appointed to the court on October 2, 2020, by Gov. Tim Walz (D) to replace Fred Karasov.[1]
Education
Yellowhammer earned a bachelor's degree from the College of St. Catherine and a J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School.[1]
Career
Prior to her appointment to the Fourth Judicial District, Yellowhammer served as the American Indian Community Relations Development Manager for Hennepin County. She has also represented indigenous clients in adult and juvenile child protection cases at the Indian Child Welfare Law Center, worked as a White Earth Nation Tribal Court Judge, and served as a Minnesota Assistant Attorney General.[1]
