I am born and raised in Central Florida. I went to Lake Howell High School and graduated from UCF with a B.S.B.A. in Marketing. I have been married since 2014 to my lovely wife Lori, and we have a fun loving 5 year old son named Logan. I come from a large family as my grandparents had 8 kids, 21 grandchildren and too many great grand children and great greats to remember. Lets just say holidays can be overwhelming. While putting myself through school I was working for AT&T in their call center where I was a manager. I eventually transitioned to the retail store and was an assistant sales manager. I found my real passion when I switched career and became a Realtor. I truly discovered my why of helping people. I also volunteer for Alpha Kappa Psi where I am a regional director, overseeing 12 collegiate chapters mentoring and developing future leaders. I am also the President of the Casselberry Chamber of Commerce where we are continuously promoting prosperity within the community. I am extremely excited to put my passion for helping others out by earning your vote for Orange County Soil and Water, District 1.
For Soil and Water, I am passionate to getting us back to working within the community. The current soil and water board is not involved within the community which has reduced the good of the board. It is tough to advocate for the community when the community does not know we exist.
It is the office that can impact the community the most. The other elected offices they cant be involved with the community as much, because they have to govern and keep the ball rolling for the county. In Soil and Water, you can actually go out in the community and have an impact a lot easier.
I look up to my uncles. When I was growing up I was able to observe them and learn so much from them. It helped shape who I am today.
Tools of Titans would be a great book to understand my philosophy. This book is a hodgepodge of lessons from people over time. My true political philosophy is to listen, and from listening make an informed decision. There is no yes or know answer. Only a good answer and a better answer, and you get to the better answer by listening to others who challenge you.
Honesty. You are representing the public, and to do so you must be honest. That's how you build the trust necessary to move forward.
I am an active listener who has an innovative leadership style to drive organizations forward and not backwards.
The core responsibilities is to show up to meetings, contribute to those meetings and then contribute to different projects you agree to at those meetings. Another responsibility is to listen to the public and advocate on their behalf.
I want to leave a legacy that creates a better lifestyle for generations to come. Whether its within an organization or a community, it doesn't matter.
I was you, in elementary school. It was the shuttle explosion in 1986. I remember my grandmother purchasing a picture of the astronauts from Publix.
The first job I held was as a Bagger at Goodings Supermarket. I worked throughout high school (almost 3 years). I have fond memories from it and it built the foundation for my leadership skills to grow. While working their I was able to work in every department, was a cashier and also ended in the customer service booth.
Peter Pan. Who wouldn't want to be a kid and have fun, away from the daily stresses of life.
Old town road because my son likes to have dance parties to it.
A struggle would be finding my way growing up as a boy without a father being raised by my single mother and grandparents. Always trying to learn things on your own, like shaving and putting on a tie. I hope I am doing good for my boy.
I think politics should not play a roll in this office. In fact, the current state of the office is because of partisan politics taking precedent over the people. This office is about community and the people, and promoting conservation between both. nothing more, and nothing less.
I think this office needs someone with the heart of a teacher. I volunteer doing financial peace university, first time homebuyers courses and other leadership courses. So I do have the heart of a teacher. It also needs to be someone who is creative to overcome the challenges of an office with no funding but being expected to do something. It would be nice to also have a scientist on the board, but when no one is on the board like that we can always bring in the professionals to provide insight that we do not have.
