Dana Popish Severinghaus was the Illinois Director of Insurance. She assumed office on February 22, 2022. She left office on April 15, 2024.
Popish Severinghaus was appointed by Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) on January 4, 2021, to replace Robert Muriel. She served as the acting Illinois Director of Insurance from January 19, 2021, to February 22, 2022, when she was confirmed by the Illinois state Senate.[1]
Biography
Dana Popish Severinghaus earned a B.A. in communication studies and journalism/mass communications from the University of Iowa in 2003 and a J.D. from the Illinois Institute of Technology Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2010.[1][2] Severinghaus' career experience includes working as Midwest regional counsel with Allstate, a senior policy advisor with the Illinois Department of Central Management Services, the director of government relations with BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois, a partner and lobbyist with Government Navigation Group, and owning the Dana A. Popish, Attorney at Law firm.[2]
