Campaign themes

2016

Jass' campaign website highlighted the following issues:[1]

SPENDING and TAXES

"Government overspending has led to over taxing. Legislators must set priorites to prevent profligate spending. Our communities need a stronger voice in government so that our tax dollars are spent more wisely."

JOBS "Minnesotans need better employment opportunities to ensure prosperity and financial security. We should be able to support our families while working in satisfying careers."

EDUCATION "As a teacher, I value a good education. We need results oriented education with a strong, student-centered curriculum. Our students are our legacy and our most important investment. We must better prepare them for the future."

SOCIAL SECURITY "Minnesota is one of six states that taxes social security benefits for seniors. Seniors have already paid their dues. We can and should make their retirement years more comfortable. They should not be forced to leave their Minnesota homes to make ends meet."[2]
