The Oxnard Union High School District is located in Ventura County in southern California. The county seat is Ventura. Ventura County was home to 850,536 residents in 2015, according to the United States Census Bureau.[3]

Demographics

Ventura County outperformed California as a whole in terms of higher education achievement from 2010 to 2014. The United States Census Bureau found that 31.6 percent of county residents aged 25 years and older had attained a bachelor's degree, compared to 31 percent of state residents. The median household income for Ventura County was $77,335, compared to $61,489 for the entire state. Penelope DeLeon (May 2016 - Present)

Penelope DeLeon is the superintendent of the Oxnard Union High School District. She has served in this role since May 26, 2016. DeLeon previously served as the chief of secondary schools for the Fontana Unified School District. She also has experience working as a high school teacher, an assistant principal, a principal, a secondary instructional specialist, and a director of professional development, assessment, and evaluation. DeLeon earned master's degrees in secondary education and educational administration and a doctoral degree in organizational leadership from the University of La Verne.[5][6]

Trudy Arriaga (March 2016 - May 2015)

Trudy Arriaga served as interim superintendent of the district from March 2016 to May 2016. Arriaga was the superintendent of Ventura Unified School District from 2001 to 2014.[7]

Robert Fraisse (November 2015 - March 2016)

Robert Fraisse served as interim superintendent of the district from November 2015 to March 2016. He was appointed to the position to fill the vacancy left by Gabe Soumakian's retirement.[7]

Members of the Oxnard Union High School Board are elected at large to four-year terms on a staggered basis every even-numbered year. Three seats were up for election on November 4, 2014, and two seats were up for election on November 8, 2016.

Teacher salaries
