The ballot measure was introduced into the Oklahoma State Legislature as House Bill 3146 (HB 3146) during the 2022 legislative session. On March 22, 2022, the state House voted 53-37, with 10 members excused, to pass the proposal.[1]
The measure was not passed in the opposite chamber before the legislature adjourned the 2022 legislative session on May 27, 2022.[2]
