Mark Blankenship was the District 3 incumbent on the Lubbock school board in Texas. He ran unopposed for re-election on May 10, 2014. He did not seek re-election in 2018.

Blankenship is a civil attorney with Crenshaw, Dupree & Milam. He has his bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University and his J.D. from the Texas Tech School of Law. Blankenship has three children who were enrolled in Lubbock schools at the time of his candidacy.[1]
