Jon W. Thompson was a judge on the Arizona Court of Appeals, Division One. He was appointed to this court in 1995 by Republican Governor Fife Symington. Thompson died on July 24, 2019.[1][2]
Judge Thompson was retained by voters in 1998, 2004, 2010, and 2016.[3][4][5]
Education
Thompson received his B.S. from Northern Arizona University in 1975 and his J.D. from the University of Colorado Law School in 1979.[6]
Career
Thompson began his legal career in private practice in Phoenix, Arizona. He was a deputy county attorney for Yuma County from 1980 to 1983 and a deputy county attorney for Coconino County from 1983 to 1988. Later he was a judge pro tempore in the Coconino County Superior Court and then a partner with the law firm of Mangum, Wall, Stoops & Warden in Flagstaff, Arizona.[6]
